Based on this background, there are challenges that are still being faced by the Indonesian people related to poverty. Even though there have been government efforts to reduce poverty, there are still many people living below the poverty line. This program aims to end poverty entirely in Indonesia and ensure everyone's access to basic resources, public services, decent jobs, and fair economic opportunities. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to make collaborative efforts from governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, and individuals. Programs for economic empowerment, poverty alleviation, and increasing access to education, health, and social services are the main focuses in efforts to achieve this goal. Zero Hunger
Zero Hunger itself, which means "without hunger" in Indonesia, is an important program in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations. The background of this program is based on the fact that the problem of hunger is still a serious challenge in Indonesia, especially among the poor. Even though there have been government efforts to overcome this problem, there are still many individuals and communities who experience a lack of adequate food and nutrition. This program is aimed at ending hunger and ensuring access to sufficient, safe, nutritious and sustainable food for all Indonesians. Through collaboration between the government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and individuals, this program aims to increase agricultural productivity, develop sustainable food systems, increase food security, and provide better access to food for vulnerable groups. Good Health and Well Being
Good Health and Well-Being means a good level of Health and Welfare in Indonesia, this topic is also one of the main programs in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations. The background of this program is based on the fact that access to quality health services is still a challenge for most Indonesian people. Problems such as high maternal and child mortality rates, the prevalence of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and inequality in access to health services are still a serious concern. This program aims to improve the health of the Indonesian people as a whole and ensure equitable access to quality health services. The Universitas Sumatera Utara is committed to supporting programs to improve physical and spiritual health and well-being in Indonesia through research, education and community empowerment. The Faculty of Medicine and all other Health Faculties at USU play an important role in producing qualified medical personnel, conducting innovative research in the health sector, and providing equitable health services for the community. Although progress has been made in the education sector in Indonesia, there are still challenges such as disparities in access, low quality of learning, and a lack of equity in education. To support this sustainable development, USU created a program in the form of facilities for managing wastewater, preventing polluted water, and free drinking water for students which can be obtained at every faculty. This program aims to increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of clean water and proper sanitation. USU also collaborates with the government, NGOs and local communities to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the needs of clean water and sanitation in Indonesia. Affordable and Clean Energy
The Affordable and Clean Energy program aims to promote the use of affordable renewable energy in Indonesia. Therefore, we work with governments, companies and communities to develop sustainable solutions to meet the need for clean and affordable energy. The "Affordable and Clean Energy at the Universitas Sumatera Utara" program is aimed at reducing university dependence on conventional energy sources and switching to energy sources that are affordable and environmentally friendly. We are committed to implementing renewable energy solutions, such as solar panels, geothermal energy, and energy efficiency technologies in our campus buildings.
Through this program, we also organize educational campaigns about the benefits of using clean energy and how to adopt it in everyday life.
