Realizing Research Based on Tri Darma
The School is organised into domains that pursue disciplinary excellence and provide core disciplinary teaching. The domains are encouraged to expand beyond their traditional contexts and incorporate relevant knowledge and skills of related disciplines.
Aside from being the School’s foundation for disciplinary excellence, domains are channels for communication and mentoring, and offer clear pathways for career development. Each faculty member belongs to one domain. Research assistants, research associates, research fellows and graduate research students belong to the domains of their supervisors / Principal Investigators.

Kolaborasi Riset USU Turunkan Angka Stunting di SergaiKerja sama penelitian selama 6 bulan yang diikuti oleh 20 puskesmas, 6 kelurahan, dan 243 desa di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai ini telah membuktikan, bahwa pemberian sirup yang berisi kombinasi ekstrak ikan gabus, meniran dan temulawak dari PT MMP terbukti dapat menurunkan angka stunting.
Cream Anti Aging Oxalis Dehradunensis RaizadaProduk inovasi ini sebagai solusi yang dikembangkan dengan bahan baku alami dan memiliki khasiat yang baik untuk mengurangi paparan radikal bebas, mampu mengurangi keriput dan mengecilkan pori pada wajah, serta secara signifikan mampu mengurangi noda dan flek pada kulit wanita. Melalui pemanfaatan cream anti aging ini, petani dapat lebih merawat dan menjaga kesehatan kulit serta mengurangi risiko penuaan dini pada petani.
Peluang Bisnis Inovasi Hand Soap Gel Ekstrak Daun Acem-AcemStart up HI Cloud Viral yang dirintis oleh Dr Eka Lestari Mahyuni, SKM., M.Kes, dari Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Sumatera Utara akan memproduksi sabun cuci tangan yang mengandung ekstrak daun acem-acem yang mampu membersihkan paparan kimia.

Masker Filter Nanofiber Pelepah Pisang Siap DikembangkanMeskipun pandemi Covid-19 di Indonesia yang telah berlangsung selama dua tahun lebih tengah dipersiapkan menuju transisi ke status endemi, sampai saat ini penerapan protokol kesehatan masih terus diberlakukan. Khususnya pada pertemuan-pertemuan publik di ruangan tertutup. Covid-19 masih dipandang sebagai ancaman yang cukup berbahaya bagi siapa saja. Sedangkan masker tetap berstatus wajib dipakai untuk menghindari penularan.

The Research Institute-USU was founded in 1970 under the name Institute for Research and Community Service, abbreviated as LPPM, chaired by Prof. Andreas T. Barus, M.Sc From 1982 to 2005, LPPM-USU was separated into 2 (two) institutions.
