USU Faculty of Medicine Provides Specialist Services at RSUD Tafaeri, Hundreds of North Nias Residents Seek Treatment Enthusiastically
The community service activities conducted by lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), included antenatal examinations and ultrasonography (USG) for pregnant women, gallstone screening, hemoglobin (Hb) and random blood glucose (RBG) tests for the public, as well as emergency response training for healthcare personnel at RSUD Tafaeri. The activities were warmly welcomed by residents, who filled the available service rooms and even crowded the hospital corridors.

“We are pleased to be able to support the placement of residents in our partner hospitals, as this initiative constitutes an integral part of the educational process. Our residents need exposure and direct experience of the real conditions within the community, including understanding how communities require access to healthcare services, particularly the role of specialist physicians in managing cases that demand more advanced and specialized treatment,” said dr Inke.
