Vice Rector

Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A., serves as Vice Rector I for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. He was born in Medan on February 16, 1963. Currently, Dr. Edy Ikhsan has a functional position as an Associate Professor with the rank of Senior Administrator, Group IVc.

Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP. serves as Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Born in Medan on October 5, 1979, Muhammad Arifin Nasution currently has a functional position as an Assistant Professor, with the rank of First Class Superintendent, Group IIId. He started his primary education at SD Islam Azzizi Medan (graduated 1991), then continued to SMP Negeri 11 Medan (graduated 1994), and SMA MAN 1 Medan (graduated 1997). He obtained his bachelor's degree from the State Administration Science Study Program of FISIP USU (graduated 2004). He then earned a Master of Development Studies degree from FISIP USU (graduated 2007).

Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. serves as Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Prof. Poppy is the only woman in the highest leadership of Universitas Sumatera Utara. She was born in Medan on June 10, 1975. Currently, she has a position as a Professor with the rank of Administrator, Group IVa.

Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc. serves as Vice Rector IV for Information, Planning, and Development of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Prof. Opim was born in Medan on August 17, 1961, along with the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day. Prof. Opim holds a functional position as a Professor with the rank of Middle Administrator, Group IVd.

Luhut Sihombing, M.P. serves as Vice Rector V for Asset and Business Management of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Ir. Luhut Sihombing, M.P. was born in Sidikalang, October 8, 1965. The functional position he holds is Associate Professor with the rank of First Class Administrator, Group IVb.
