USU PR - Vice-Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt, together with all the supporting components under it are ready to move to achieve all the goals listed in the USU Strategic Plan Phase 2 for 2020-2024. It was conveyed during the morning assembly at the USU Central Administration Bureau Building on Monday (04/07/2022).

Vice-Rector III said there would be three institutions: the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, the Scientific Writing Innovation Institute and Intellectual Property Rights, and the Innovation Research Development Agency. Those institutions are to meet USU's performance targets, namely to make USU an international standard university characterized by local excellence and able to increase achievement. USU in the QS World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings as internationalization standards used by universities in Indonesia and the world.

"These three institutions must be able to improve USU's achievements in the QS World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings," he said.

To achieve this, USU must build international relations by accepting and sending lecturers and staff to universities abroad, increasing the quality and quantity of journal publications, inviting practitioners and professionals to teach at USU, and participating in summer course/joint degree programs. /double degree.

"One of the things we want to encourage is an international research, which is also one of the work programs that we want to encourage in increasing its quantity and quality," he said.

Prof. Poppy also said that it is necessary to multiply research proposals to build a network of research groups with international universities. It means that each faculty has at least one international research, which can also build a network of research groups with international universities.

"In that way, the potential strength that will be possessed comes from 15 faculties at USU. At least in a year, we can have 15 international researchers," he said.

The VR III also appreciated the entire work team under USU's Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Sector, who always worked hard and worked smart in completing all the stages in the various priority work programs.
