The USU Rector Audition for the 2026–2031 Period Was Successfully Held, with Eight Candidates Presenting Their Best Work Programs
The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), General Police (Ret.) Drs. Agus Andrianto, S.H., M.H., who opened the event virtually, emphasized that the position of rector is a major mandate with equally great responsibilities. Therefore, whoever is elected as rector must be supported by all parties.

USU Ensures Rector Election for 2026–2031 Will Follow Regulations
“There are three stages in the process: nomination, screening, and election. After the audition process, the Academic Senate of USU will carry out the election. From the eight candidates, a maximum of three will be selected based on the highest number of votes. It can be fewer than three, but not more than three. The mechanism is one man, one vote,” explained Prof. Thamrin
