Magha Puja Celebration 2023
The Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit proudly presents the Magha Puja Celebration 2023, an event that embraces the wisdom and togetherness within the teachings of Buddhism. Taking place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Vihāra Mahāsampatti, this activity becomes a special moment for the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit to broaden the understanding of USU Buddhist students regarding the deep meaning behind this celebration. The Magha Puja Celebration is a meaningful tribute to the extraordinary event when 1,250 selected monks gathered to meet the Buddha on a full moon. Their presence symbolizes collective wisdom and the determination to follow the teachings of the Teacher. This event honors the spiritual legacy left by the dedicated monks. Furthermore, this celebration is also a valuable moment to strengthen the bonds of togetherness in a warm and loving atmosphere among the Buddhist community. Art performances, games, and enjoyable interactions also completed the experience of this celebration.
Kunjungan Kasih (Visit of Love)
With its distinguished reputation, the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit organized an event called Kunjungan Kasih (Visit of Love) on Sunday, March 12, 2023. This activity took place at Panti Asuhan Rumah Bakti Kasih Anak Indonesia, located at Jl. Dr. Mansyur Baru Gg. Kemuning No. 9, Tj. Rejo, Medan. This location is where love and care serve as the foundation for children in need. The Visit of Love provides an opportunity for the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit to bring warmth to each other and the children in the orphanage. Through compassionate presence and interactions, this student activity unit aimed to bring happiness to children in need and to inspire the importance of love and care in daily life. It was an opportunity for every member to support and inspire the orphanage's children. Together, the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit will feel joy, share laughter, learn, and create genuine and valuable connections.
Waisak Holy Day Celebration 2023
On June 11, 2023, at 14:00 Western Indonesia Time, the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit hosted the Waisak Holy Day Celebration 2023 at Tiara Convention Center. The Waisak Holy Day Celebration is a highly anticipated moment for the Buddhist students of USU. Beyond just commemorating history, this event aims to strengthen the bonds of religious unity and fraternity among Buddhist students of USU and the broader Buddhist community. Throughout this celebration, the understanding of Buddhism in Indonesia was enhanced through a series of lectures, discussions, and cultural exhibitions. This moment also served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the relationships among the Buddhis USU Student Activity Unit members through art performances, games, and togetherness in a dinner banquet.
