USU PR - Vice-Rector II of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) for Human Resources and Finance Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP attended a pilgrimage to the Bukit Barisan Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Jalan Sisingamangaraja Medan, on Thursday (30/06/2022).

The event also attended by The Mayor of Medan City Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution with his wife Mrs. Kahiyang Ayu M. Bobby Afif Nasution, Vice-Mayor of Medan City H. Aulia Rachman, Medan City Secretary Wiriya Alrahman, Medan City Forkopimda Elements, Medan City DPRD Members, OPD leaders along with the subdistrict head and headman, Medan City PKK Management, Head of the Environment, and Elements of the Youth Organization on that occasion carried out the sowing of flowers.

The series of activities at the pilgrimage procession led by the Mayor of Medan in celebration of the 432th Anniversary of the City of Medan included a moment of silence, laying of wreaths, and prayers.

The mayor of Medan said that the pilgrimage to the hero's grave was carried out to commemorate the anniversary of Medan and inform the public that the anniversary of the city of Medan falls on July 1, 2022 and an appeal to preserve the culture and teachings of the previous heroes.

"Hopefully, we can remember and remember the teachings of our ancestors," he said.

Bobby hopes that the city of Medan will be better by improving the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Medan.

"Hopefully, in the future, the city of Medan will be better, the people will be more prosperous, and there will be no obstacles, which means that the health, safety, and welfare of the people are the most important," he said. After the pilgrimage to the hero's grave, the event continued with the plenary session of the DPRD.
