HUMAS USU - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) commemorated the birth of Pancasila with a ceremony held in the courtyard of the USU Central Administration Bureau Building on Thursday (01/06/2023). The ceremony was conducted under the leadership of Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP, the Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance. It was attended by various units and departments of USU.
In his address, Vice Rector II expressed that the chosen theme, "Gotong Royong Membangun Peradaban dan Pertumbuhan Global" (Collaboration in Building Civilization and Global Development), perfectly aligns with USU's vision and mission.
"USU, as an educational institution, is dedicated to nurturing the nation's youth and fostering a generation of excellence that will lead this country to unprecedented progress," explained Vice Rector II.
He emphasized that the commemoration of the Birth of Pancasila serves as a reminder and recommitment to uphold and practice the noble values encapsulated in Pancasila.
"Pancasila consistently provides us with the answers to the challenges we face in this era of disruption, instilling in us the confidence necessary to move forward as a united nation," stated Vice Rector II.
Furthermore, he revealed USU's aspiration to become a benchmark for higher education in Indonesia and achieve a ranking within the top 500 World Class Universities (WCU). This ambitious goal requires collective efforts, hard work, and smart strategies from all units and departments within the university.
"USU has implemented numerous programs, including the establishment of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, which takes comprehensive responsibility for attaining the goal of reaching the top 500 WCU," Vice Rector II shared.
On this auspicious occasion of the Birth of Pancasila, Vice Rector II expressed the importance of maintaining enthusiasm, loyalty, and a strong dedication to USU. He also emphasized the significance of upholding the values of Pancasila across all work units and in every interaction.
