This 95th Youth Pledge Day commemoration carries the theme 'Together Advancing Indonesia'. Dr. Edy Ikhsan S.H., M.A. read a speech from the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia Dito Ariotedjo, who invited the public to make this momentum to remember the history of gotong royong. From all elements of youth who succeeded in planting the spirit of patriotism, as well as uniting the vision of nationality.

"The 1928 Youth Pledge gave birth to a national commitment to swear by one blood, the Indonesian homeland; to have one nation, the Indonesian nation; and to uphold a united language, the Indonesian language," Dito wrote.

In his written remarks, Dito Ariotedjo also explained that inclusivity in the cross-generational collaboration ecosystem has built collective optimism. Thus, today youth have a place of honor in national development.

"The government has widely opened the participation of the youth. Indonesia's young generation today is in line to realize Indonesia's future hopes together," Dito explained.

Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, emphasized the important role of students as part of a generation that is expected to be resilient in facing various challenges of extraordinary change. Holistic preparation, including physical and mental, as well as a strong spirit of nationalism are key to facing the changing times.

"The momentum on October 28, 1928, by Indonesian youth, became an awakening for youth, especially for USU students to prepare themselves to respond to a glorious future," said Dr. Edy.

Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, explained that the program initiated by the Student Activity Unit involves various activities, which are designed to build patriotism, nationalism, and increase love for the nation and state. USU is committed to integrating these activities to strengthen students' youth attitudes.

"If you look at the various UKM programs at USU, there are not only competitive activities. But some activities build a spirit of love for the nation and the state," explained Dr. Edy.

This momentum is expected to be a driving force for youth, especially USU students, to get ready and work together to face a bright future.
