“We are honored that USU has been chosen as one of eight universities selected as the destination for the Sespimti visit. The collaboration between USU and the National Police has been firmly established, both in terms of campus security support and postgraduate education. This visit is a tangible manifestation of the productive synergy between academia and the police,” explained Prof. Fidel.
HUMAS USU – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed cadets of the Indonesian National Police Staff and Command School (Sespimti Polri) in the Rector’s Audience Room on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The delegation was led by Inspector General of Police Drs. Jawari, S.H., M.H., and received by the University Secretary, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked. (OG), Sp.OG(K)-FER.
Prof. Fidel expressed his appreciation for the visit.
“We are honored that USU has been chosen as one of eight universities selected as a destination for Sespimti’s visit. The collaboration between USU and the National Police has been well established, both in campus security support and postgraduate education. This visit is a tangible manifestation of the productive synergy between academia and the police,” he said.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Jawari emphasized that this visit is part of Sespimti Polri’s domestic fieldwork program, which focuses on the implementation of strategic leadership.
“This activity aims to strengthen strategic leadership, particularly in the digital field, as well as to foster collaboration with universities. In the postmodern and post-truth era, the synergy between education and the police is crucial, especially to counter hoaxes that could disrupt social stability,” he stressed.
Through this initiative, it is expected that cooperation between USU and the National Police will grow even stronger, particularly in the development of digital leadership and in making real contributions to addressing global challenges in the flow of technology and information.
