USU PR - The Taekwondo Athlete Team of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) won the Gold Medal from the World Taekwondo Cangmookwan 2021 which will be held on November 6-7, 2021.

In an audience with the USU Taekwondo Team, USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin., S.Sos., M.Si expressed his appreciation to the Taekwondo Team on Thursday (06/01/2021).

"Congratulations to the Taekwondo Team, the achievements that have been made have made USU proud at the international level," the Rector said.

Dr. Muryanto said, USU will support the Taekwondo Team in developing achievements, through improving facilities and facilities so that they are more enthusiastic in practicing.

"We will improve the existing facilities, if you keep on practicing, you can definitely win, the commitment of the athletes is to train," he said.

According to him, this achievement strengthens USU as a university that has students with superior quality who are able to compete with students from other universities.

Taekwondo Head Coach, Riki Napitupulu. said that all these international achievements were obtained with great tenacity, perseverance and a strong struggle because they had to compete with students from various countries.

"The USU Taekwondo team has practiced really hard to win this gold medal," he said.

To further increase its achievements in the future, the Taekwondo Team hopes that there will be improvements in training facilities and facilities so that they can increase achievements for USU.

"Hopefully more training support facilities will be added," said Riki.

Riki also hopes that the USU Taekwondo Team can make achievements in every championship that will be followed.
