Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Collaboration at USU Prof. Dr. eng. Himsar Ambarita ST., MT. said that this event was intended to pave the way for USU students to get to know foreign students. So that in the future there can be collaboration between the two and conducting research.
PR USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held its 5th collaboration meeting with the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS). The activity was held in the IMTGT room of the USU Central Administrative Bureau Building on Thursday, (7/21/2022).
This event is one of the implementations of the MoU between USU and CULS. In this event, 5 CULS students presented the results of their research. This event is in line with USU's vision of internationalization.
Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Collaboration at USU Prof. Dr. eng. Himsar Ambarita ST., MT. said that this event was intended to pave the way for USU students to get to know foreign students. So that in the future there can be collaboration between the two and conducting research.
"The purpose of this activity is to pave the way for our students as well as to get to know students abroad and to what extent with the hope of networking or collaboration," he said.
Prof. Himsar explained that the next steps would be taken after this activity, USU and CULS will try to set-up the join degree program, then both of them agreed to do a summer course, and do joint research.
"First of all, we have had a conversation. We will try to set up a kind of dual degree program between USU and the Czech University, then both of us agreed to do a sunmer course in the future, so the host is USU, after that we will invite several universities abroad. can do research together, choose a topic that we can propose,” explained Prof. Himsar.
Prof. Himsar hopes that this activity can be carried out frequently, both with Cezch and other countries, because it is in accordance with President Jokowi's message that talent in Indonesia must be connected with global talent.
On the same occasion, Vice Dean of International Affairs Prof. Ing. David Herak, Ph. D said that he was happy with this meeting because he thought this knowledge could be shared with the public. He also added that this activity can be used to find new friendships to establish useful international projects in the future.
