MEDAN – HUMAS USU: Universitas Sumatera Utara, through its Directorate of Finance, once again achieved a notable accomplishment by receiving an award for its dedication and significant contribution to tax revenue in 2025 at the Medium Tax Office (KPP Madya) Two Medan. The award was presented directly by the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) North Sumatra I, Belis Siswanto, and accepted by the Director of Finance of USU, Marthin Luther Tarigan, at the Regional Office of DJP North Sumatra I, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, on Tuesday (May 5, 2026).

Responding to the achievement, Marthin Luther expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the accomplishment, which he described as the result of the hard work of all involved teams and the strong support from the university leadership.

“This appreciation is not merely a certificate, but concrete evidence of USU’s strong commitment to upholding transparency and tax compliance in support of national development. We hope this achievement will inspire the entire academic community to continue prioritizing integrity and professionalism, enabling USU to contribute even more positively to Indonesia’s progress,” he stated.The certificate of appreciation, numbered KET-32/WPJ.01/2026, awarded to Universitas Sumatera Utara, was electronically signed by the Head of the Regional Office of DJP North Sumatra I, Belis Siswanto.

This achievement also reflects USU’s commitment to strengthening accountable, transparent, and regulation-oriented institutional governance. Amid increasingly complex challenges in higher education financial management, USU continues to improve its administrative and financial systems as part of its efforts to realize good university governance.

The award is considered not only a source of pride for the Directorate of Finance, but also a representation of the collective work culture established within the university. Tax compliance is viewed as a moral and institutional responsibility in supporting sustainable national development while strengthening public trust in higher education institutions.
