USU receives 10 Oxygen Concentrators from the Bakti Tanoto Foundation and Asian Agri

USU PUBLIC RELATIONS-MEDAN: Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received assistance in the form of 10 units of Oxygen Concentrator from the Bakti Tanoto Foundation and Asian Agri which were symbolically handed over on Thursday (9/9/2021) at the Lobby of the USU Administration Bureau, USU Campus. The handover was carried out in an atmosphere of implementing strict health protocols.
Present on behalf of the USU Rector, USU's Vice Rector V, Ir Luhut Sihombing, MP, expressed his appreciation to the Bakti Tanoto Foundation and Asian Agri who have contributed to improving Covid-19 services through USU.According to him, this assistance is very meaningful in efforts to handle Covid-19 patientsat the USU Teaching Hospital.
"We really appreciate the assistance provided by the Bakti Tanoto Foundation and Asian Agri to USU which we will forward to the USU Hospital so that it can be used to treat Covid-19 patients.This assistance may be small for the Bakti Tanoto Foundation and Asian Agri, but it means a lot to us and can provide life for others," Luhut said.
Jeffrey Jeo, Program Manager at Tanoto Foundation Medan, symbolically handed over the aid and mentioned that the Oxygen Concentrator is a form of contribution from the Bakti Tanoto Foundation in helping thegovernment in handling Covid-19.
"This is a form of our commitment to assist the government in handling Covid-19 in Indonesia.We brought 10 units of this Oxygen Concentrator from China so that we can leave it at the USU Hospital so that itcan be used," Jeffrey said.
He also hopes that this assistance would improve services for Covid-19 patients.Jeffrey urges all parties to work together to meet theneeds of Covid-19 patients. Furthermore, Luhut said that the Bakti Tanoto Foundation is a USU partner who has contributed to the progress of USU.He said that the contribution of the Bakti Tanoto Foundation was very useful and could encourage USU to become what it is today.
“The Bakti Tanoto Foundation is a senior partner of USU.Many real contributions have been made.One of the things we can see the most is the USU Auditorium.Apart from that, there is still a lot of assistance from the Bakti Tanoto Foundation that has been given to USU, such as research funding assistanceand so on," Luhut said.
He also mentioned that Asian Agri is a USU collaboration partner.Recently, USU is exploring cooperation with Asian Agri in an effort to improve USU's plantation land management.Cooperation continues to be discussed to create harmonization between the parties involved.
“Cooperation must give the impression of a mutually beneficial symbiosis.For that, we are also ready to help.We hope that the potential we have, such as human resources, can contribute to our partners so that we are not the only ones who will benefit from this collaboration," he concluded. Also attending the meeting were Asian Agri's Head of Social Capital David Alamsjah, Asian Agri's Human Resource Development Pieter Wijaya. , Director of USU Henry Salim Siregar Hospital along with the directors, as well as lecturers and teaching staff at USU.(RR/©ULC)
