USU Prepares 8 Student Teams to Compete in PIMNAS 2022

USU Public Relations - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is holding preparation and training for 8 USU Student Teams that will compete in the 2022 National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS). The opening of this preparation and training activity was held in the USU FEB Hall on Saturday, (11/05/2022).


Vice Rector I for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA is optimistic about the targets achieved by the USU Team this year. The Universitas Sumatera Utara will continue to support every development from the PIMNAS delegates.


Through careful preparation, USU's Deputy Rector I hopes that communication will continue to be established between students, accompanying lecturers, and the Universitas Sumatera Utara to run smoothly. That way the prospective scientist can immediately make improvements and changes in order to produce maximum work.


"We hope that these students will continue to communicate with their mentors and make improvements and changes in relation to the presentations they will be doing later. Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and USU Alumni Relations Doli Muhammad Jafar Dalimunthe SE., M.Sc explained that in preparation and training for PIMNAS it is necessary to hone several student abilities that are in accordance with the assessment parameters at PIMNAS such as writing mechanisms, substance, presentation, public speaking, and poster design.


"The preparation is actually quite long, in principle there are actually 4 parameters, the first is substance, the second is the writing mechanism, the third is presentation, the fourth is public speaking, one more addition to the poster we also invite experts to prepare them to be able to produce posters from their works which are quite good," he said.


The Chairperson of the USU PKM Center Ir Erni Misran ST, MT, PhD hopes that with professional assistance by reviewers it can help the USU Team obtain evaluations of various assessment items at PIMNAS.


"Today's activity is a PIMNAS facilitation or preparation activity for 8 of our student teams who have successfully passed. There has been ongoing assistance related to posters, has dissected giving material. Then proceed with technical assistance. We hope that the results will be even better in terms of design," Ir Erni said.


As additional information, the 8 USU representative teams for the 35th PIMNAS consist of the Exact Research Student Creativity Program (PKM), Written Futuristic Idea PKM, Humanities Social Research PKM, and others. (©ULC)
