HUMAS USU — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., encouraged new students to make the most of their university years as an opportunity to develop and explore their potential in his remarks at the closing ceremony of the 2026 New Student Campus Life Orientation Program (PKKMB), Friday (August 14, 2026).
Speaking before thousands of new students gathered at the USU Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) field, the Rector said the PKKMB closing ceremony was designed in an enjoyable atmosphere to welcome students into university life with renewed enthusiasm. According to him, campus life would be different from students’ experiences during their school years.

“Explore all the potential you have so that you can achieve accomplishments during your university years,” the USU Rector told the new students.
The Rector also reminded students to make full use of the facilities available across the USU campus. Following the conclusion of PKKMB, he said, learning and personal development would become an integral part of students’ journeys throughout their university education.
In addition to encouraging students to develop their potential, the Rector highlighted the importance of financial literacy among young people. The PKKMB closing ceremony featured a dialogue and talk show on financial management, including the importance of using digital financial services responsibly to avoid problems related to online lending.

Following the speeches and dialogue sessions, the PKKMB closing ceremony became even more lively with musical performances. One of the performers entertaining the new students was Bilal Indrajaya, an Indonesian singer and songwriter.
Bilal Indrajaya’s appearance was part of the entertainment program that brought the 2026 USU PKKMB to a close. The music and performances created a vibrant atmosphere at the FISIP field after the new students had completed three days of campus life orientation activities.
The closing of USU PKKMB 2026 marked the beginning of the new students’ transition into university academic life. Having become acquainted with the campus environment, students are expected to adapt, make use of the available facilities, and continue exploring their potential to achieve accomplishments throughout their time as members of the USU community.
