USU Officially Appoints Managers to Strengthen Institutional Governance

MEDAN – HUMAS USU – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a ceremony for the official handover of Rector’s Decrees regarding the appointment of managers within Universitas Sumatera Utara on Friday (June 5, 2026) at the Video Conference Room, Central Administration Bureau Building, 4th Floor.
The event forms part of USU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen organizational governance as a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH). Through the appointment of managers across various directorates, USU seeks to enhance the effectiveness of program implementation and improve coordination among units in support of the university’s vision and mission.
The Vice Rector for Human Resources, Finance, and Information Systems, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP., stated that the newly appointed managers play a vital role in bridging university leadership policies with their implementation at the operational level. He emphasized that the appointments were based on each individual's competence and professional capabilities.
“Managers serve as the link between policies established by university leadership and their implementation within work units. Therefore, those appointed are individuals who possess the competencies and expertise required in their respective fields,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Relations, Promotion, and Protocol Affairs, Prof. Dr. Elmeida Effendy, M.Ked(KJ)., Sp.KJ(K)., expressed hope that the appointed managers would effectively support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of university programs.
“With these managers in place, we expect all processes—from planning and implementation to program evaluation—to run effectively, enabling the university to achieve its established goals,” he explained.
Through this appointment process, Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes that the newly appointed managers will carry out their responsibilities with integrity, accountability, and dedication, contributing to stronger institutional governance and the continued advancement of USU in the future.
