Public Relations USU - The Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations (Ditmawalumni) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) inaugurated the “Joint Action” Cabinet of the Student Executive Board (BEM) for the period 2024 to 2025. The elected Chairman and Vice Chairman of BEM were inaugurated, and 28 ministries were in the cabinet. The inauguration was held at the Student Center on Thursday (27/02/2025).

Muzammil Ihsan will be Chairman and Muhammad Thoibul Fattah will be Vice Chairman of the elected Student Executive Board (BEM) from 2024 to 2025. They will carry out their responsibilities in the next year along with 28 ministries. Several excellent work programs will support the university's progress.

Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi, Director of Ditmawa USU, in her remarks on collaboration, innovation, and synergy between the university and BEM. Not only politics but also achievement. She also said that there will be regular discussions with BEM and that open dialogue will be accepted regarding the delivery of student aspirations. “Conveying also what the obstacles are, such as the use of facilities and infrastructure and things related to lecture facilities,” she said at the inauguration.

The newly inaugurated Chairman of BEM, Muzammil Ihsan, mentioned that there would be a transition period from the previous leadership era of Student Government (PEMA) to the Student Executive Board (BEM). During this period, they formed the Joint Action Cabinet, which means taking good action for the university.

“We want the meaning of this joint action to be not only demonstrations, acts of anarchism, and so on. But what we want is how we collaborate with our friends from HMJ, UKM, and the region,” he said.

Furthermore, several excellent programs will be realized in the future, namely the BEM System or SIBEM, a website containing information about BEM USU, and the Student Achievement House, a place for students to get scholarships and their stages.

On the same occasion, Muhammad Thoibul Fattah, Vice Chairman of BEM, revealed that he wanted to communicate with USU and North Sumatra government stakeholders. And hopes to become a liaison between the rector and students. “Acceptable among students, both students and the rectorate bureau can work together. To build the existence of students, “he said.
