USU PR – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted an online University Asset Management Socialization via Zoom Meeting on Thursday (June 25, 2026). The program was organized to strengthen the governance of university-owned assets across the institution.
The Vice Rector for Planning, Infrastructure, and Business, Dr. Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, S.T., M.Si., stated that university assets are more than items listed in an inventory—they are strategic resources that support the implementation of the university's Tri Dharma of higher education.
"University assets are not merely items recorded in an inventory. They are strategic resources that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of higher education," he said.
He expressed hope that the program would provide all university work units with a shared understanding of asset management and administration, covering every stage from inventory and safeguarding to asset disposal and write-off.
During the same session, the Director of the Directorate of Academic Infrastructure Management, Rapido Parasian Gultom, S.T., M.Si., explained that the management of university assets is governed by a series of Rector's Regulations and Rector's Decrees that regulate the entire asset lifecycle.
He emphasized that asset planning must be carried out comprehensively, including maintaining consistency between administrative records and the physical existence of assets to prevent potential violations.

He highlighted three key aspects of asset protection: administrative security, physical security, and legal security.
Concluding the presentation, Anggia Murni, S.S., M.Si., Manager of Infrastructure Data, Information, and Analysis at the Directorate of Academic Infrastructure Management, explained the procedures for disposing of University-Owned Assets (BMU) at the faculty and work-unit levels.
