USU Holds Job Fair and Product Innovation Festival

Public Relation USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) again held a Job Fair and Innovation Product Festival. The activity initiated by the USU Innovation Research Development Agency took place from Monday to Tuesday December 5 – 6, 2022 at USU's Pancasila Building.


At the event, a series of activities were held including seminars, HRD presentations, questions and answers, and career talks.


USU Deputy Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan S.Sc., M.Sc., Apt said the activity, which invited many companies, was aimed at facilitating USU students to get jobs according to their interests and competencies.


“We facilitate students to get jobs. So we invited several existing companies," USU WR III said.


This activity was also attended by the ranks of Forkopimda. According to USU WR III this is a support for USU to produce more and more innovative products produced by USU lecturers and students.


"Government support is a strength and a testimony that the innovative products produced by USU are products that have good function and quality," said Prof. Poppy.


Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan S.Sc., M.Sc., Apt hopes that this activity can be carried out well and provide benefits for all parties involved, especially for applicants and companies. WR III appealed to USU students to make good use of this event.


"The hope is that USU students can innovate and make the best use of this," she said.


Head of the USU Innovation Research Development Agency Buchari, S.T., M.Kes. Explaining this activity to meet the KPI 1, IKU 2, and IKU 5 assessments. He added that this activity is useful for entrepreneurship development, product commercialization innovation, and career development.


"So we facilitate USU alumni to get jobs in accordance with the mandate of IKU 1. Then we also facilitate them to introduce their products to the public as a form of IKU 2 entrepreneurship. The third is also a form of IKU 5," Buchari said.


The Head of the USU Innovation Research Development Division hopes that through this activity USU students can have an entrepreneurial spirit. (©ULC)
