USU Held the 77th RI Anniversary Ceremony Solemnly

During the independence ceremony, the Rector of USU read a welcoming text from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Nadiem Makarim. The content of the text is to mobilize global collaboration to work together to restore and revive the education system with the theme “Recover Faster, Rise Stronger”.
PR USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a ceremony to commemorate the 77th independence day of the Republic of Indonesia at the USU Central Administration Bureau Courtyard on Wednesday (8/17/2022). The ceremony took place solemnly with USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si as the ceremonial supervisor.
During the independence ceremony, the Rector of USU read a welcoming text from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim. The content of the text is to mobilize global collaboration to work together to restore and revive the education system with the theme “Recover Faster, Rise Stronger”.
"To welcome the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Kemendikbudristek raised the theme Recover Faster, Rise Stronger," he concluded.
According to the USU Rector, the meaning of this theme is that after facing a pandemic, it is hoped that life will return to normal with normal habits, and it is hoped that it can produce new innovations that will support USU to be more advanced in the future.
"Along with this theme, it is hoped that life will return to normal after facing the pandemic," he said.
In addition to the ceremony, there was also an alma mater and Student Identity Card (KTM) embedding activity which was intended as a symbol that USU accepted new residents as part of USU. The Rector of USU also advised that at this time of independence, the USU academic community must learn more to improve their abilities so that these abilities can be given for the benefit of the community.
"The attachment of the alma mater and KTM is symbolic that USU accepts new residents as part of USU," said the Rector.
For information, in celebrating the 77th Independence Day at USU, there are various interesting competitions, namely USU fashion week which adopts the idea of Citayem Fashion Week and there is a follow-up competition from the previous day, namely tug of war competition, climbing areca nut pole, inserting nail-in-bottle competitions, sack races and so on.
On that occasion, the Satya Lencana Satya award certificate was also given to lecturers and teaching staff who have served for 10, 20 and 30 years. (©ULC)
