“We extend our thanks and hope to continue receiving support from BNI. Of the total need of IDR 1.7 billion, IDR 1.1 billion has been realized. The logos of BNI and other parties who helped will be displayed as a form of appreciation,” he said.
HUMAS USU – PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI) handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Faculty of Law (FH) of the University of Sumatera Utara (USU) for the construction of the Aladdinsyah Prayer Room of FH USU. The handover took place in the DPF Room of FH USU on Wednesday (22/08/2025).
The CSR assistance provided by BNI was a prayer room dome, which is one of the main elements in the completion of the Aladdinsyah Prayer Room renovation at FH USU.
USU Vice Rector V, Dr. Ir. Luhut Sihombing M.P., expressed his appreciation for BNI's support in the construction of the FH USU prayer room. He explained that of the total construction funding needs of IDR 1.7 billion, IDR 1.1 billion has now been realized. As a form of appreciation, the logos of BNI and other parties who have contributed will be displayed on the prayer room.
“We express our gratitude and hope to continue receiving support from BNI. Of the total need of IDR 1.7 billion, IDR 1.1 billion has been realized. The logos of BNI and other parties who helped will be displayed as a form of appreciation,” he said.
In addition, Dr. Ir. Luhut Sihombing M.P. also revealed that a donation mechanism for the prayer room construction will be more easily accessible to the public, namely through QRIS, either in the form of charity, infaq, or other donations. All collected funds will be managed directly by the Faculty of Law so that they are allocated transparently and on target.
“A mechanism for donations, charity, infaq will be implemented via QRIS to facilitate donations. The Faculty of Law will manage the public's donations so that the funds are well-allocated. The donations received will not be subject to tax deductions or interest,” he said.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum., mentioned that the prayer room's construction progress has reached about 70–80 percent. He explained that most of the prayer room's construction funds came from alumni contributions. However, the funds collected are not yet sufficient, so additional support is still needed.
“Around 70-80% has been built. The participation of alumni has largely met the funding needs for the prayer room's construction. So I urge that we still need assistance so that the construction of the prayer room can be completed soon,” he said.
Furthermore, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum., hoped that BNI could provide support again, for example, for the procurement of facilities and the arrangement of the prayer room's front area. He said that the Faculty of Law would immediately prepare a follow-up proposal so that it could be resubmitted and evaluated by BNI.
“We also hope that BNI can help with other things through its CSR funds. We hope that the prayer room can have things like an AC, for example, and the arrangement of the front space. I have already conveyed this to the BNI side and hopefully it can be assisted. We will submit a more detailed proposal to BNI later,” he added.
