USU Commemorates Pancasila Sanctity Day, Reaffirms the Practice of Pancasila Values in Academia and Technology

“Pancasila is a way of life that must serve as the foundation for all activities within the university,” said Prof. Poppy.
USU PUBLIC RELATIONS – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day 2026 at the USU Rectorate Courtyard on Thursday (October 1, 2026).
The commemoration served as an opportunity to strengthen the implementation of Pancasila’s noble values in the academic community, both through academic activities and the use of technology.
USU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., stated in an interview that Pancasila must serve as the foundation for all activities within the university.
“Pancasila is a way of life that must serve as the foundation for all activities within the university,” Prof. Poppy said.

She emphasized that the practice of Pancasila values should be reflected in conduct and ethics during lectures as well as in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
“The practice of Pancasila values should be reflected in conduct and ethics during lectures and in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education. Students are also expected to strengthen unity through joint activities that provide the greatest possible benefit to society,” she said.
On the occasion of Pancasila Sanctity Day, she called on the entire academic community to honor the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes by fulfilling their responsibilities and putting Pancasila values into practice.
