USU PR — The USU Award 2025 was held differently from previous years. The award night honoring members of the USU academic community who achieved various national and international accomplishments was conducted in a solemn atmosphere on Tuesday (09/12/2025) at the USU Student Center.

The Rector of USU, Prof. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., from the podium, after expressing his gratitude for the hard work of lecturers and students who have brought pride to USU through achievements at both local and international competitions, invited the academic community to pray for the victims of the floods that are still occurring. “Your achievements are a source of pride for USU in improving academic quality in the future; however, beyond that, let us also pray for disaster victims in Sumatra—our brothers and sisters who are still struggling to overcome their difficulties,” said Prof. Mury.

Prof. Mury also encouraged members of the academic community to lend a helping hand and contribute a portion of their resources to those in need through the USU Managed Fund account. The USU Peduli team itself, he added, continues to distribute aid to disaster victims with the assistance of students who are members of student activity units (UKM).

The assistance, according to Prof. Mury, represents a concrete action demonstrating the presence of the academic community in providing benefits to others during emergency disaster response situations. “This award night marks the fourth consecutive year it has been consistently organized. Its purpose is to motivate academic members, particularly lecturers and students, to continue giving their best and achieving excellence across various fields,” he stated. The university, he added, strives to provide broad appreciation for those who attain outstanding achievements, as such accomplishments are certainly not easy and deserve commensurate recognition.

USU itself continues to progress along the path of internationalization by consistently improving its world-class university ranking standards. Several study programs that have obtained international accreditation serve as tangible evidence of the contributions of lecturers, academic staff, and students. Therefore, the rector hopes that these achievements can be further enhanced in the future.

The USU Award 2025 presented prestigious awards across several categories, namely Best Academics (Best Author, Best Researcher, Best Innovator, and Best SDGs Contributor), Best Archival Personnel, Best GJM and GKM Implementers, Best Priority Performance Indicators, Superior Accreditation, International Accreditation, Best Partnership, Accuracy in PDDIKTI Reporting and Plug and Play, Outstanding Students, and the Alumni Inspiring Award.
