The Selection Committee for Candidates for Universitas Sumatera Utara Audit Committee for the 2025-2030 term, chaired by Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., has completed its tasks. Universitas Sumatera Utara Board of Trustees has selected and appointed the chairperson, secretary, and members of Universitas Sumatera Utara Audit Committee for the 2025-2030 term during the Universitas Sumatera Utara Board of Trustees Meeting on August 19, 2025, and confirmed through Board of Trustees Decision No. 6/UN5.1.MWA/SK/TP.00.00/2025. The appointment was followed by the handover of duties from the 2021-2025 Audit Committee to the new Audit Committee, marking the official commencement of their duties, held at the Secretariat of Universitas Sumatera Utara Board of Trustees on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the USU MWA, Prof. Dr. Tamrin, M.Sc, the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, the Vice Rector II, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP, and other members of the MWA. The Chair of the USU Audit Committee for the 2025-2030 term is Dr. H. Kaswinata, SE, Ak, CA, MSP, accompanied by Syarief Fauzie, SE, M.Ak, Ak, CA, CPA as Secretary. The other three members of the Audit Committee are Riva Ubar Harahap, SE, Ak, M.Si, CA, CPA, Yusrin, SH, M.Hum, and Dr. Syarifah Lisa Andriati, SH, M.Hum.

The Chairman of the USU MWA, General (Ret.) Drs. Agus Andrianto, SH., MH, in his speech read by the Secretary of the USU MWA, Prof. Dr. Tamrin, M.Sc, expressed his deepest gratitude, appreciation, and highest regards to the Audit Committee for the 2021-2025 period for their excellent work and extraordinary dedication in assisting USU.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the USU Audit Committee for the 2021-2025 term for their outstanding work. I also congratulate the members elected to the USU Audit Committee for the 2025-2030 term and hope that we can collaborate effectively to support USU under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin. We must work seriously and serve well, establish cooperation between the Audit Committee and the MWA, as well as between the MWA and the executive, so that what we hope for in the future—that USU becomes our pride—can be realized,” said Prof. Tamrin.

The Rector of USU, in his remarks at the event, expressed gratitude to the MWA for conducting the election of the Audit Committee as mandated by the statutes. “I would like to thank the 2021-2025 Audit Committee for their good work and collaboration with the MWA and the executive in carrying out their duties. Among other things, by conducting oversight and providing sound advice on university governance. For the new Audit Committee, I hope we can all work together effectively, as there are many tasks ahead to improve USU further," said the USU Rector.

The Chair of the 2021-2025 Audit Committee, Drs Ardian, MM, CFE, QIA, CA, Ak, expressed gratitude to Allah SWT for concluding the 2021-2025 Audit Committee’s term of office. “From the beginning of our term, the Audit Committee has committed to upholding integrity, objectivity, and independence in carrying out all assigned tasks. This commitment should be upheld by the next Audit Committee, especially in continuing the unfinished work of the previous Audit Committee, namely, in performing the tasks and functions of control toward good university governance.  

The Chair of the 2025-2030 Audit Committee, Dr. H. Kaswinata, SE, Ak, CA, MSP, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for being entrusted with the role of Chair of the Audit Committee.

“As the new Chair of the USU Audit Committee, I pledge to continue improving the performance of this institution and provide greater benefits for USU. Together, the USU Audit Committee will work diligently to achieve USU’s goals, vision, and mission, thereby realizing a world-class university and good university governance within the USU environment. We hope that all parties will assist and support the Audit Committee in fulfilling its duties as required,” he stated optimistically. (RJ)
