A spirit of care and collaboration filled the Equity Room of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on Tuesday (April 28, 2026). Together with PT Majoris Asset Management, USU carried out a donation handover as a response to the flood disaster in North Sumatra, while also reinforcing cross-sector synergy in humanitarian efforts.
Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation, Himsar Ambarita, expressed appreciation for the contribution provided by PT Majoris Asset Management. He emphasized that USU is currently entering a new leadership phase under the spirit of “The Era of Ultimate Excellence,” which highlights the importance of universities playing an active role in society.
“We highly appreciate this act of care. USU is committed to continuing to deliver tangible contributions, especially in assisting communities affected by disasters,” he stated.
Director of Internationalization and Global Partnership (Dit IKG) USU, Dewi Masyithah Darlan, noted that cross-sector collaboration is a strategic step in expanding networks while strengthening the university’s social impact.
“Collaborations like this are essential to broaden global partnerships and ensure that the presence of universities truly benefits society, especially in times of disaster,” she said.
Co-Founder of PT Majoris Asset Management, Dasrul Chaniago, explained that the company is committed not only to investment management but also to contributing socially through financial literacy initiatives.
“We allocate a portion of our funds, particularly from sharia-based schemes, as a cleansing fund that is distributed for social activities, including assistance for disaster-affected communities,” he explained.
Representative of the USU Peduli volunteer team, Meutia Nauly, stated that this activity serves as an important momentum to strengthen synergy among stakeholders in humanitarian movements.
“In addition to field actions, publication and communication also need to be enhanced so that more parties can get involved and contribute to helping communities,” she said.
Through this initiative, Universitas Sumatera Utara and PT Majoris Asset Management reaffirm their commitment to strengthening cross-sector collaboration in supporting post-disaster recovery and promoting sustainable community welfare.
