USU PR - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) won 4th place nationally in the 2023 National Student Qur'an Tilawatil Musabaqah (MTQMN) XVII event held at Brawijaya University, Malang. This event is a biennial event held by the Ministry of Education and Culture in an effort to develop student talent in the field of Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) which was held November 3-10, 2023.
USU Rector Prof. Muryanto Amin, SSos, MSi felt grateful to be ranked 4th nationally. "USU talents in the field of religion have shown achievements and will continue to be facilitated to improve the ability of USU talents," he said.
Prof. Mury emphasized that the student achievement program will continue to be fully supported both in facilities, coaching and funding. He hopes that student achievements in the future will continue to increase, even the best at the national and international levels.
USU Vice Rector I Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA appreciated the achievements of USU Khafilah at the XVII MTQMN event. According to him, the success of USU MTQMN in Brawijaya this time is the result of the strategy and coaching process carried out by USU.

The support of the rector and all faculty and study program leaders makes them able to harmonize academic responsibilities as students and achievements in their respective fields of expertise.
"The rector and all leaders expressed their gratitude and high appreciation to all members of the caravan, supervisors and coaches," he said.
The khafilah winners in the MTQMN UB 2023 were represented by Universitas Sumatera Utara, namely Tilawah Al-Quran (2nd place).
