PR USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) accepted 2,479 new students through the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) Joint Selection for State University Entrance (SBMPTN) 2022. The number consisted of 1,348 participants who graduated from the science and technology group and 1,131 UTBK participants from the social group.

As for the participants who took part in the USU's Superior achievement-based Selection (SBPU Talent) 11 people passed. SBPU Talenta is a new pathway provided by USU for the admission of new students in 2022.

USU's Vice-RectorI conveyed it, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, through the Head of USU's Office of Public Relations, Protocol and Promotion, Amalia Meutia, M.Psi., Psychologist, to the media Thursday (23/06/2022).

"All leaders of the University of North Sumatra congratulate all prospective USU students who graduate through the UTBK-SBMPTN route and on joining the USU big family. Hopefully, this will stimulate the enthusiasm of these prospective USU students to study hard. SBMPTN participants who graduated has stepped into a new stage of life as a student. A bright future is in sight in achieving your goals. Hopefully, later you can actualize yourself as a child of the nation who will have a big impact on USU, society, and the world, "said Amalia Meutia.

The favorite study programs with high demand this year in the scientific group consist of; Medical Education, Pharmacy, and Public Health Sciences. Meanwhile, for social and community groups, namely Law, Management and Psychology, the top three most popular study programs are Law (3,073), Medical Education (2,612), and Management (2,365).

The tough competition for UTBK at the study program level at USU is for the Nutrition, Communication, and Computer Science study programs. Meanwhile, the study programs that are less attractive this year are Chinese Literature Study Programs, Regional Literature for Batak Literature, and Regional Literature for Malay Literature.

Amalia added, that prospective student who have passed, they can fill in Single Tuition Fee (UKT) data.

"For prospective students who have passed, they can then fill in basic data and upload files via the https://registrasi.usu.ac.id page, which is opened from 24 to 30 June 2022—followed by UKT payments through a virtual account starting on June 30, 2022. 7 to 8 July 2022. For the procedures and procedures for filling out and paying for this UKT, further details can be found on the www.usu.ac.id page," explained Amalia.

While those who have not succeeded in passing the SBMPTN pathway, Amalia welcomes them to try again through the Independent Student Selection (SMM) and USU Diploma Program Student Admissions Selection (SPMPD), where registration has been opened from 20 June to 20 July 2022. Self-examination will start on July 25 to 31, 2022, while the graduation announcement will be held on August 7, 2022 (S1) and August 11, 2022 (D3).
