USU PR – The Security Unit of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received the Best Security Service User Award for the Higher Education Category organized by Asosiasi Profesi Satpam Indonesia (APSI). The award was presented as part of the 45th Anniversary commemoration of Satpam at Hotel Madani Medan on Thursday (08/01/2026).
The USU Security Coordinator, Ferdinan Hutagalung, directly received the award at an event attended by various stakeholders in the security sector, including representatives of Polda Sumatera Utara, government institutions, leaders of educational institutions, security practitioners, and security personnel from various sectors.
The award serves as recognition of USU’s commitment and consistency in building a professional, humane, and sustainable campus security system. USU Security was assessed as successfully implementing strong operational standards, enhancing the competencies of its security personnel, and fostering effective synergy with law enforcement authorities, including the police.
Ferdinan Hutagalung expressed gratitude and appreciation for the trust given by APSI. He emphasized that the achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the entire USU Security team and the full support of the university leadership, particularly the Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si.
