Director of the Directorate of Learning Digitalization at USU, Dr. Ir. Tigor Hamonangan Nasution, S.T., M.T., IPM., stated that the socialization was conducted as part of the preparation of the 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKA) to ensure that all implemented programs support one another and avoid overlapping.

HUMAS USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), through the Directorate of Learning Digitalization (DitDP), organized the Socialization of the 2026 Priority Work Program on Tuesday (19/05/2026) at the USU Digital Theater Room. The activity was conducted as an effort to synchronize the work programs of faculties, study programs, and directorates related to digitalization and learning technology within USU.

Director of the Directorate of Learning Digitalization USU, Dr. Ir. Tigor Hamonangan Nasution, S.T., M.T., IPM., explained that the socialization was carried out in preparation for the 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKA) so that all implemented programs could support each other and avoid overlap.

“The presence of this directorate is not intended to increase the burden on faculties and study programs, but to help achieve performance targets related to the digitalization of learning,” he stated.

He explained that USU has a priority program entitled Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence Learning Process, which focuses on developing technology-based learning and the utilization of artificial intelligence in the learning process within the university environment.

In addition, the Directorate of Learning Digitalization USU also introduced the USU Open Learning and OpenCourseWare program, which aims to support the development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) and digital learning content through training and mentoring for lecturers and study programs.

“We do not only provide training, but also mentoring so that digital learning outputs such as OpenCourseWare and MOOCs can truly be produced and utilized,” he said.

Through this socialization, USU hopes that all faculties, study programs, and directorates can collaborate in supporting the digital transformation of learning in order to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of technology-based learning processes at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
