Public Relations USU- Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) participated in the 79th Bhayangkara Day ceremony of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) with the theme “Polri for the Community.” The event was held at the KS Tubun Field of the North Sumatra Police Headquarters on Tuesday (July 1, 2025).
At this 79th Bhayangkara Day ceremony, USU was represented by the University Secretary, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M. Ked(OG), Sp.OG, Subsps.F.E.R. In this context, the USU Secretary stated that the chosen theme is highly meaningful, as it continues to evolve to enhance the quality of service provided to the community. Creating programs to build the nation.

Furthermore, Prof. Fidel interpreted Bhayangkara Day as a form of cooperation that has been established between the two parties. To mutually support one another. USU collaborates with the Police to maintain a conducive environment on campus.
“We have always worked together, supporting USU in various ways. It's a two-way street,” he said.
On the same occasion, Inspector General of Police Wishnu Hermawan Februanto, the Police Chief of North Sumatra, expressed deep gratitude to the police for striving to maintain security and order in the region in his opening remarks. He noted that the theme chosen for Bhayangkara Day differs from previous themes and carries a profound meaning.
“This is very different. This is advice for the police officers in front of me,” he said.
Not only that, Inspector General Wishnu also apologized to the public for the inadequate service provided. Moving forward, the police will continue to improve in the right direction.
“In the future, we will make changes and improve our services to the public so that they are well-served again,” he said.
