RSGM USU Ready to Become a Teaching Hospital in North Sumatra

“We hope that RSGM USU will get the best results in order to increase public confidence in using the service,” added Vice Rector I USU.
USU PR - Verification of the Designation of Teaching Hospital of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM), which was held on Friday, (22/11/2024) in the USU RSGM Meeting Room brought representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Health to conduct a visitation.
In his remarks, USU Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan SH, MA, said that the role of teaching hospitals is very strategic in producing professional and qualified medical personnel. The verification process is an important step to ensure that RSGM USU meets the standards set by the Ministry of Health and related institutions.
Not only in the field of service, RSGM will provide the best service for the community as well as being an ideal place to produce professional, skilled, and competent medical personnel in the field of dentistry and mouth.
Vice Rector I USU hopes that there will be input and improvements from the assessor team in order to continue to improve its quality and provide ideas that are beneficial for the progress of RSGM USU in the future. “We hope that RSGM USU will get the best results in order to increase public confidence in using the service,” added Vice Rector I.
Carrying out education and development of the dental profession in accordance with the development of science and technology and the needs of the community, providing integrated dental and oral health services, opening up opportunities for cross-sector cooperation, programs with various lines are the main missions of RSGM USU presented by the Director of RSGM USU, drg. Siti Salmiah Sp.KGA.Subsp.KKA (K).
In the future, RSGM is planned to collaborate with BPJS. The Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan City has also become a collaborative partner in sending students to work at RSGM USU.
Furthermore, the Director of RSGM USU added that in 2023 RSGM had received full accreditation. In 2024 it will change from Type C to Type B. So that the next stage is to go to the teaching hospital stage.
The hope is that RSGM USU will become one of the referral centers for dental and oral care throughout North Sumatra, especially Medan City.
