The Rector of USU Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si said that alumni are one of USU's greatest strengths in achieving its vision as a university that has academic excellence and becomes a barometer of scientific progress, which is able to compete at the global level.

The Alumni Association (IKA) of the Postgraduate School (SPS) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held an Inauguration of Management for the 2022-2026 Period, by inaugurating 40 administrators. The event took place at the Medan Club, on Saturday (09/03/2022).

"Alumni are one of USU's greatest strengths to make USU a university that has excellence in academics," he said

In addition, USU really needs the support of alumni as a support system in realizing its mission, which is to organize higher education based on autonomy, which is a forum for character development and professionalism of human resources.

The Rector also said that USU will always produce graduates who become agents of change and as a force of modernization in the life of the wider community who have relevant scientific competencies and strong competitiveness, and behave ethically as intellectuals.

Chairperson of the USU Graduate School IKA for the 2022-2026 period, Dr. Drs. Arlen Hanel John, M.Si. conveyed, as alumni, we must keep in touch with students and the academic community by openly accepting input or suggestions and embracing all like family sincerely and sincerely so that all members feel the benefits

"As alumni, we must keep in touch with USU students and the academic community," said Dr. Arlen

Dr. Arlen also said that in the future program there will be a simple work meeting, which after the meeting the work program will be implemented, then an evaluation will be carried out to see which work programs have been running and those that have not, it is necessary to include them to make them even better.

Dr. Arlen will also make the latest breakthrough, namely by collecting data on members, then planning to form a business and service institution because graduates from post-graduate schools come from various scientific fields who work in the field of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), government, private companies, and others. others because they hope that the alumni of the Graduate School will be able to provide benefits for the benefit of many people, including the alumni themselves.
