We hope that this evaluation will yield positive results for the accreditation of the Bachelor of Public Health program, further enhancing the community's trust in our institution as a provider of quality higher education," said Prof. Opim Salim

HUMAS USU - The Indonesian Higher Education Accreditation Board for Health (LAM-PTKes) conducted an on-site evaluation of the Bachelor of Public Health Study Program at the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) in the FKM auditorium on Monday, May 29, 2023.

During the assessment, Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., the Vice Rector IV, warmly welcomed the two assessors, Prof. Dr. Dra. Dewi Susanna, M.Kes from the University of Indonesia, and Dr. Aria Gusti, SKM, M.Kes from Andalas University.

In his address, Vice Rector IV expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by the Bachelor of Public Health program and emphasized the importance of building trust in providing quality education to the community.

"We hope that this evaluation will yield positive results for the accreditation of the Bachelor of Public Health program, further enhancing the community's trust in our institution as a provider of quality higher education," said Prof. Opim Salim.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina M.Si., the Dean of FKM USU, mentioned that extensive preparations had been made for this year's assessment. The faculty had taken necessary steps to ensure all requirements for the field assessment were met.

"We have made comprehensive preparations, including the availability of facilities and infrastructure, curriculum-related aspects, and other relevant elements," explained Prof. Ida.

As a member of the assessment team, Dr. Aria Gusti, SKM, M.Kes., explained that the assessment covered nine criteria, encompassing both academic and non-academic aspects.

"Our assessment focuses on comparing the program with national standards of higher education. We aim to ensure that the program not only meets but exceeds the national standards. We have assessment forms and have conducted a thorough document assessment prior to this visit," said Dr. Aria.

The LAM-PTKes assessment team emphasized that the purpose of the field assessment was to ensure the delivery of quality education services to the community and to uphold the faculty's commitment to maintaining high standards.

"Our goal in evaluating the university's accreditation is to ensure that the community receives quality education commensurate with their investment in higher education. We aim to safeguard the community from receiving subpar educational services that do not meet the required standards," added Dr. Aria.

In conclusion, it is hoped that the Bachelor of Public Health program at FKM USU will continue to produce outstanding graduates who possess expertise, strong character, readiness, and professionalism, contributing to the field of health.
