At this annual event, USU demonstrated its excellence in managing public communication and social responsibility. USU successfully brought home two major awards in the Higher Education Sector, namely GOLD WINNER in the SR Communication Program Category, Community-Based Development Subcategory, and SILVER WINNER in the Owned Media Category, Video Profile Subcategory.
USU also received the Best Presenter PRIA 2026 award in the SR (Sustainability Relations) Communication Program Category, presented to Zulfahmi Purba, Promotion Coordinator at the Directorate of Digitalization and System Integration.
The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara warmly welcomed this achievement and described it as tangible evidence of the transformation of communication within the university environment.
“This award is a recognition of the hard work of the entire team in building a bridge of trust between the university and the community. In this era of civilizational transformation, institutional communication is not merely about delivering information, but about becoming a value creator that must possess strong social awareness and high integrity,” the Rector stated.
He further added that the victory in the Community-Based Development category proves that USU’s community service programs have been communicated effectively, generating real and meaningful impact for the public.
“The human resources at USU possess strong intellectual capacity and competitive communication skills at the national level. This aligns with our vision to continue producing outstanding alumni and to grow as an excellent institution,” he concluded.
PRIA 2026 was attended by hundreds of institutions, ranging from ministries, state agencies, state-owned enterprises, to private corporations and universities from across Indonesia. USU’s success in standing alongside major institutions such as IPB University and Universitas Indonesia further affirms its position as one of Indonesia’s universities with the best public relations governance.
With this achievement, USU reaffirms its commitment to continuously enhancing innovation across digital channels and strategic communication programs in support of the university’s vision toward becoming a World Class University.
