USU PR - Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., officially opened the third online 2021 USU Games show, Tuesday (11/16/2021). In his remarks, the Rector said that the USU Games competition was expected to form students with "star" characters.

"Whatever the results obtained by the participants, my message is only one, put forth your best efforts and abilities each of you. But don't even do it fraudulently and unfairly," he said.

The Rector added that the honor and pride as a champion is not only focused on the value produced, but also on honesty and sportsmanship.

"The USU Games competition also carries the principles of honesty, sportsmanship and professionalism based on a tough and unyielding attitude. Don't forget another important thing, that in addition to achieving the best achievements, this competition is also held to strengthen friendship and friendship between participants," added the Rector.

Dr. Muryanto stated that the reason for USU's encouragement to continue to be enthusiastic about carrying out the USU Games this year, with the aim of strengthening the role of universities in creating a healthy generation through sports activities and fostering a spirit of solidarity and sportsmanship among students‎.

"And in order to find the youth with talents, achievements and sports potential to later be able to represent the Universitas Sumatera Utara to compete, either at the national, regional and international level," he added.

Head of the USU Games Committee Eko Yudhistira S.H, M.Kn said the third USU Games 2021 will be attended by 306 participants, consisting of 198 local participants and 108 national participants.

The implementation of the 3rd USU Games applies the concept of a virtual tournament with several branches being competed including chess, e-sports, pencak silat (traditional martial art) and virtual fit challenges. (©ULC)
