MoU with Coventry University London, USU Strengthens Its International Network

USU PR – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has strengthened its international network through the signing of a cooperation agreement with Coventry University, London. This initiative simultaneously reinforces USU’s strategic position at the level of a world-class university.
The Rector of USU, Prof. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., who welcomed the delegation from Coventry University, London, at the Rectorate Bureau Meeting Room of USU on Monday (11/03/2025), expressed his honor at receiving a visit from the Vice-Provost (Research and Enterprise) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) of Coventry University, Prof. Richard Dashwood.
Prof. Mury explained that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Coventry University will have a positive impact on USU’s reputation at the international level.
“I express my appreciation and gratitude to the leadership of Coventry University London for their presence and willingness to strengthen this strategic partnership,” said Prof. Mury.
Prof. Muryanto expressed his hope that this MoU can soon be realized through concrete activities focused on the three pillars of higher education, namely education, research, and community service.
This partnership, he continued, aims to strengthen cooperation and synergy in improving the quality of human resources.
“The areas of collaboration being explored are very diverse. This cooperation includes the development of joint PhD programs supported by industry partners, as well as encouraging the exchange of academic staff, lecturers, and researchers,” he stated.
In addition, the partnership will focus on joint research initiatives that are expected to result in co-authored publications, and will also facilitate the organization of symposiums, conferences, short courses, and other scholarly meetings related to topics of mutual interest.
In terms of rankings, Coventry University is currently ranked 46th according to The Guardian University League Tables 2024, 58th according to The Times and Sunday Times University Guide 2024, and 69th according to The Complete University Guide 2024.
Internationally, Coventry University is ranked 571st among the world’s best universities according to the QS World University Rankings 2024.
