Public Relations USU - The Master of Property Management and Valuation of the Postgraduate School of the University of North Sumatra (MMPP USU) held an online-based international seminar titled "Global Trends in the Property and Real Estate Industry". Held at Zoom Meeting, on Saturday (04/26/2025).
This seminar collaborated with various parties and institutions, namely the Indonesian Professional Appraisers Society (MAPPI), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the International Real Estate Federation Asia Pacific (FIABCI), the Indonesian National Real Estate Council (DPN REI), and the Indonesian Regional Real Estate Council (DPD REI).
Vice Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., supports the need for an in-depth understanding of global trends needed to encourage innovation, formulate adaptive policies, and develop competent and forward-thinking human resources.
"USU as an educational institution remains steadfast in its commitment to contributing to solving various development challenges," she said.
Prof. Dr. Elisabet Siahaan, SE, M.Ec, Head of the Property Management and Valuation Master's Program, said that this seminar will have a very positive impact in the future. The participants who attended learned about property developments.
"It can positively impact education, especially for Property Management Master's students at USU," she said.
Furthermore, Ir. Budi Prasodjo, M.Ec.Dev.MAPPI (Cert), Head of MAPPI, said that with this seminar, master's students and academics can learn about property trends that are developing on a national and international scale.
"This seminar provides benefits for the future in state collaboration and strengthening Indonesia's position in global valuation," he said.
This seminar brought in two prominent speakers, Rusmin Lawin, SH, CN, Firecs, President of FIABCI ASIA PACIFIC, Global Ambassador of Real Estate Indonesia, explained about profitable investment opportunities in Nusantara, also known as the Nusantara Capital City. The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) will become a sustainable city and the epicenter of economic growth in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Prof Kwan Ok Lee, Deputy Head of the Department of Real Estate, National University of Singapore, discussed the future of real estate; sustainability, technology, and globalization.
