PR USU - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK) and the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) collaborated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, 22 July 2022. The signing of the MoU on the Implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma in Environmental and Forestry Management This was carried out by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Bambang Hendroyono and USU Rector Muryanto Amin.

"This MoU or Memorandum of Understanding aims to increase the synergy of the parties in the implementation of the Environment and Forestry Program," said Bambang after the signing of the MoU.

The scope of this MoU is education and teaching in the field of environment and forestry; study, publication, and development of science in the field of environment and forestry; socialization and counseling as part of community service in the field of environment and forestry; capacity building and support of Human Resources including the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus Independent Program; and share data and information in accordance with applicable laws and policies.

"Furthermore, socialization related to this MoU will be carried out to work units within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry so that they can follow up with more technical Cooperation Agreements and other activities that support the performance achievements of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry," explained Bambang.

Previously, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry also had Memorandum of Understanding with several universities in Indonesia, such as Brawijaya University, Gajah Mada University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, Bandung Institute of Technology, Hasanuddin University, Nusa Cendana University, and others.

Located in the Main Meeting Room of the Secretary General of the Ministry of LHK Block I, 3rd Floor, Manggala Wanabakti Building, this event was attended by Expert Staff of the Minister of LHK for Energy, Expert Staff of the Minister of LHK for Industry and Trade and Expert Staff of the Minister of LHK for Economic Affairs of Natural Resources, as well as from the Bureau of Planning, Legal Bureau, Public Relations Bureau are also representatives of Echelon I work units within the Ministry of LHK.
