USU Public Relations - Independent Accreditation Institute for Health Higher Education (LAMPTKes) conducted a field assessment of the Biomedical Science Masters Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU). The activity took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine on Wednesday, (7/6/2022).

The function of this assessment is as one part of the accreditation process for the USU Medical Faculty Biomedical Science Masters Study Program. In his remarks, USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., welcomed the arrival of the assessor team and said that there were two crucial things in the report, namely sharing experiences or sharing experiences and the second was sharing the latest information.

"There are two important things in this report. First is sharing experiences and second is sharing the latest information, which of course each of us has," said the USU Rector.

At the same time, FK USU Dean Prof. Dr.dr. Aldy Syafruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K) hopes that the field assessment visitation for the Master of Biomedical Sciences study program will obtain input and recommendations from LAMPTKes assessors in order to make continuous improvements in improving the quality of education at USU's Medical Faculty, especially in the Biomedical Sciences Masters Study Program.

"We hope that we will get recommendations from the LAMPTKes assessors which we will use for continuous improvement efforts," Prof. Aldy mentioned.

There are several things that are reviewed by the assessor team to find out how learning and quality improvement in the Biomedical Masters program are going, including reviewing the infrastructure at the USU Medical Faculty, verifying documents, interviewing educators, and listening to the presentations of the USU Medical Faculty Dean, Head of the Biomedical Science Masters Study Program. along with the team. This was conveyed by one of the LAMPTKes Assessor Team, Prof. Dr. dr. Anak Agung Wiradewi Lestari, SpPK(K).

"Today we continue this process, then I will listen to the presentation of the dean and his team and also the head of the study program and we will verify several things that we may have to confirm again," he explained.

Prof. Anak Agung is of the opinion that USU FK is one of the superior ones and hopes that FK USU can maintain what is already superior and improve what is not yet superior.

"And we from LAMPTKes certainly hope that both USU Medical Faculty and all study programs under it can later maintain those that are already superior," said Prof. Great Son. (©ULC)
