USU PR—Universitas Sumatera Utara received a visit from the Independent Accreditation Institution for Informatics and Computer (LAM-INFOKOM) for the Field Assessment of the USU Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology Undergraduate Program in Computer Science (Fasilkom-TI). The assessment took place in the Seminar Room of Building D, Fasilkom-TI USU, on Monday (Mar. 18)
The arrival of the assessment team was personally welcomed by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si. The assessors from LAM-INFOKOM who were present were Prof. Dr. Heru Suhartanto, M.Sc., and Dr. tech. Ahmad Ashari, M.Kom.
"Allow me to express my gratitude and welcome to the Accreditation Assessment Team from LAM-INFOKOM for gracing this event," greeted Prof. Muryanto.
The USU rector also appreciated the entire performance of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) Dean's Office, which has achieved numerous academic achievements within USU and in various national and international competitions. One of the achievements recognized is the award for achieving IKU 7 in the Collaborative and Participatory Class category in 2023.

Dr. Amalia, ST., M.T., as the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Computer Science, stated that preparations for accreditation have been carried out well in advance, with the formation of a special team to compile all the necessary supporting data. The administrative process has been thoroughly prepared, demonstrating a strong commitment to ensuring that all aspects required for accreditation have been meticulously prepared.
“We have prepared all the supporting data well in advance, including the administrative aspects arranged from criteria 1 to 9,” said Dr. Amalia.
Prof. Drs. Heru Suhartanto, M.Sc., Ph.D., as one of the assessors, explained that the assessment of program accreditation can be seen from various aspects prepared by the program, ranging from standard 1 to standard 9. The assessment process includes vision and mission, educational standards, research, training, and operational management, including annual evaluations and follow-up on identified issues.
“The assessment is seen from the perspective of the study program preparing for accreditation. This shows the study program's overall preparation and implementation to meet accreditation standards,” explained Prof. Heru.
