MEDAN-Public Relations USU: The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU) held the 4th International Seminar on Language, Culture, and History (ISLHC) in 2022 on Thursday (03/10/2022) online. The activity carries the theme of The Preservation and Further Development of Local Wisdom in a Global Setting. ISLHC 2022 is the fourth activity held every year.
Vice Rector I of USU, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, appreciated the activity as an effort to support USU's transformation. This aligns with the direction and appeal of the USU Rector so that all units within USU can apply and implement the tagline Transformation Towards the Ultimate.
Edy Ikhsan also hopes that through this ISLHC international conference, USU can attempt to open up insights, transfer knowledge, and exchange the latest information with various international academics. This seminar is also planned to preserve and develop local wisdom amidst the infiltration and influence of foreign cultures.
"I appreciate holding this international conference because it is one of our efforts to encourage sharing knowledge and the latest information with various international academics to broaden our horizons. The focus is on efforts to preserve and develop local wisdom amidst the infiltration and influence of foreign cultures," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FIB USU, Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, MA hopes that seminar participants will learn about preserving and developing local wisdom in global progress.
"I hope that this seminar can benefit all participants who attend regarding local wisdom," the dean hoped.
