FACULTY OF VOCATIONAL STUDIES, USU PUBLIC RELATIONS — The Faculty of Vocational Studies of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) reaffirmed its commitment to providing globally oriented learning experiences through the International Summer Course 2026, themed “Future Proofing Global Business and Accounting: Digital Innovation, Sustainable Finance and Governance.”

Held from September 7 to 14, 2026, the program featured a series of activities designed to provide participants with a comprehensive international learning experience. The International Summer Course 2026 offered participants an opportunity to broaden their perspectives through international learning, knowledge sharing, networking, and exposure to Indonesian culture alongside participants and speakers from various countries.

The program was officially opened on Monday, September 7, 2026, via Zoom Meeting. The opening session began with remarks by Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies of USU, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of strengthening global perspectives and international collaboration in preparing students and the younger generation to navigate the increasingly dynamic world of business and accounting.

The opening session continued with remarks and the official opening by Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation of USU, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T. The opening reflected Universitas Sumatera Utara’s support for strengthening the internationalization of education, developing academic networks, and expanding cooperation with partners from various countries.

Following the opening session, participants attended a session featuring Suhizaz Sudin from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), who presented on “Artificial Intelligence for Business and Accounting Transformation.” In his presentation, Suhizaz Sudin discussed the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of business and accounting transformation. The session was presented as an executive business strategy guide, exploring how AI can support financial modernization, risk management, capital efficiency, and strategic decision-making in an increasingly complex and dynamic business environment.

Throughout September 7–14, 2026, the International Summer Course 2026 will continue with a range of activities bringing participants together with academics, practitioners, and international partners. These activities provide opportunities for participants to gain new knowledge, engage in discussions, exchange experiences, build international networks, and learn in a multicultural environment.

The program also goes beyond academic aspects by providing participants with opportunities to experience Indonesian culture. The combination of international learning, knowledge exchange, global networking, and cultural experiences is expected to make the International Summer Course 2026 a comprehensive and memorable learning experience.

By addressing issues of digital innovation, sustainable finance, and governance, the International Summer Course 2026 represents one of the Faculty of Vocational Studies USU’s efforts to prepare adaptive, innovative, and globally competent human resources. The program also strengthens the Faculty of Vocational Studies USU’s efforts to build an educational ecosystem that embraces technological developments, sustainability, good governance, and international collaboration.
