HUMAS USU – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a morning assembly combined with an Eid al-Fitr halalbihalal gathering for 1447 H at the front yard of the USU Rectorate Bureau Building on Monday (April 6, 2026).

The event marked the initial momentum for the entire academic community to resume work activities after the Eid holiday.

In his remarks, the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that halalbihalal is not merely a tradition, but also a meaningful occasion to strengthen unity and reinforce the spirit of collaboration within the university.

“On this occasion, I would like to extend my sincere apologies to all members of the academic community,” said Prof. Muryanto.

He further reminded the academic community that USU is currently entering a crucial phase of institutional transformation, particularly in strengthening governance, improving service quality, and expanding global partnerships.

“I hope that we can all give our best for the future progress of USU,” he added.

On the same occasion, the Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., explained that concrete steps have been taken to support this transformation, including a comprehensive evaluation of the organizational structure.

“Structural changes, such as the addition of new directorates and the transformation of bureaus into directorates, are aimed at improving service quality, particularly for students,” he stated.

He also added that these governance reforms are expected to encourage innovation across all units and enhance the competitiveness of Universitas Sumatera Utara at both national and international levels.

The morning assembly and halalbihalal gathering reaffirm USU’s commitment to strengthening synergy, improving performance, and fostering a solid and productive working environment.
