USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si. conveyed that at the age of FK USU which is the same as the age of USU, namely 71, FK USU reflects the achievements in USU. Because success through the performance of FK USU has a positive impact on the overall achievement of the university.

"At the age of 71, FK USU is the same as the age of the University. There will be no University achievements without the achievements of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of North Sumatra," said Prof. Muryanto.

Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K), explained that the academic community of FK USU must have the determination to unite to realize the vision and mission related to internationalization. Of course, the key to success is the active support of all parties, including alumni and other stakeholders.

"We unite the determination of the entire academic community of FK USU by the vision and mission, we must go international. That requires cooperation and support from all parties including alumni," said Prof. Aldy.

Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K), also added that the Eye Health Science Study Program as the FK USU Anniversary committee this year took the initiative to focus on eye health. It aims to improve eye health in Indonesian society optimally.

"From the Eye Health Science Study Program, we raised a theme related to achieving optimal eye health for all Indonesian people, that's what we are trying to do," said Prof. Aldy.

Chairman of the Committee for the 71st Anniversary of FK USU Dr. dr. Masitha Dewi Sari, M.Ked (Oph), Sp.M (K), revealed that the holding of a bazaar at the FK USU Anniversary event aims to strengthen the relationship with alumni. According to him, interaction is part of a collective effort to strengthen the relationship.

"At this event, we held a Bazaar, the goal is that we play the terms of friendship between each other and the alumni," said Dr. Masitha.

In line with that, the Representative of the Alumni Chairperson, Dr. dr. M. Rusda, M.k.ed(OG), Sp.OG(K), admitted that the FK USU Alumni Association commits to assist the academic and non-academic activities of FK USU. In September, the FK USU Alumni Association will collaborate with FK USU for a fun walk event and will contribute to improving USU's reputation.

"Of course, the Alumni Association hopes that the reputation that has been built by FK USU can continue to be improved, to make a major contribution to improving the reputation of USU," said Dr. Rusda
