"A member of the USU SPIRIT Club, Fiora Patricia Br Ginting, showed extraordinary achievements by winning the National Taekwondo Championship (Indonesia). The wins were won as 2nd place in the "Indonesia Taekwondo Championship" National Championship, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Cup (Mr. Airlangga Hartarto) and the T.I North Sumatra Province Chairperson's Cup (Mr. Musa Rajekshah). This championship will be held on June 1-4 2023 at the DISPORASU Multipurpose Sports Hall, Jl. Willem Iskandar (Jl. Pancing), Medan, Indonesia."

This competition was attended by more than 100 participants from all regions in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. This is a source of pride for the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and USU SPIRIT CLUB, where Fiora is a very active member of the USU SPIRIT Club and a student at the Faculty of Economics, Department of Accounting, Class of 2021.

Taekwondo sport has caused this art to develop in various forms. Like many other martial arts, Taekwondo is a combination of self-defense fighting techniques, philosophy, entertainment, and sport.

In a fight, spin kicks, 45 degrees, front, ax and side kicks are most commonly used; kicks performed include jump kicks, spins, passes and drops, often in the form of a combination of several kicks. Taekwondo training also includes a comprehensive system of punches and hand defenses, but generally does not place an emphasis on grappling techniques. This provides physical activity that is considered strenuous but provides more benefits, especially in burning energy. Adequate energy burning can prevent metabolic diseases including non-communicable diseases.

Congratulations to Fiora and I hope the other USU SPIRIT Club members will continue to excel.
