USU PR- The Directorate of Students and Alumni Affairs (Ditmawalumni) held the Final Match for the men's and women's Alumni Endowment Fund Basketball Tournament. This basketball tournament took place at the GOR Medan Basketball Arena on Sunday (12/17/2023).


After organizing a football tournament earlier in December, Ditmawalumni also conducted a basketball sports tournament participated in by various faculties at USU. The faculties involved in the competition were the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), and the Faculty of Law (FH).


Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi., M.Psi., Secretary of Student Achievements and Alumni Relations (Ditmawalumni), welcomed the successful sports event because it had a positive impact. She also expressed the desire that in the next year, more faculties would participate.


"Certainly, Ditmawa is quite pleased because many alumni from various faculties are involved. And the hope is that in the coming year, even more, alumni associations from various faculties throughout the Universitas Sumatera Utara will be engaged in bringing their respective faculties," said the Secretary of Ditmawalumni.


Ulfi Andayani, S.Kom., M.Kom., Manager of the Alumni Relations Division at Ditmawalumni USU, hoped this competition would continue in the coming years and serve as a meeting place for USU alumni from various faculties.


"We, from Ditmawa, hope that alumni play a significant role, and we have high expectations because, with this activity, alumni can foster fellowship," said the Manager of Ditmawalumni.

In line with that, Gema Nazri Yani, S.Ked, a 1997 graduate of the Faculty of Medicine (FK), stated that alumni often engage in sports together, and the organization of this tournament is very beneficial for starting a healthy lifestyle through exercise.


"Since our university days, we have participated in sports activities together. Everyone is interested in playing basketball. It is truly beneficial because we gather with old friends and feel motivated to lead a healthy life," he said.
