He explained that during presenting university priority program on his working visit to USU Faculty of Engineering, Friday (6/18/2021)

Dr Mury explained that at the moment USU has mapped and made a re-planning in regards to the master plan of Kampus USU Padangbulan development. He named the team as the Exist Team.

“Exist Team is the one that makes the plan, so existing faculties will be put in the data, starting from the width up to the facility and infrastructure available within. Faculty of Engineering is among those that receive the attention,” he said.

Beside Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), Faculty of Cultural Science and Faculty of Agriculture are also included. Infrastructure improvement in each faculty is an investment so that in the next five years USU reputation is solid in International level.

At the occasion, the Chancellor also highlighted other program that needs to be pushed by the faculty, namely reactivate the website or faculty homepage and the study program.

“I want it to be standardized. Bilingual, in Indonesian and in English. This is important to reach out students from abroad,” he said. 

The management and program priority have to be done hand in hand. Faculty of Engineering is the seventh faculty he visited during Chancellor’s Working Visit program to the Faculty.

Dean of the Engineering, Dr. Ir. Fahmi, ST, M.Sc, IPM said that priority program exposed by the Chancellor is very good in order to set programs in near future. “We get what needs to be prioritized and can be aligned with the program from USU’s Chancellor,” he said.

Dr. Fahmi affirmed that his team is ready to support the chancellor’s program especially in faculty development towards the world class university. Program in Faculty of Engineering will be mix and match so that it becomes a unity to achieve common goals.

“Thank you to the Chancellor and his team for the visit and we hope discussion like this can be improved so that the integration of work program can be implemented and applied properly,” he confirmed.

This working visit also attended by Vice Chancellor III Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Z Hasibuan S.Si, M.Si, Apt, Vice Chancellor IV Prof. Dr. Drs. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., Vice Chancellor V Ir. Luhut Sihombing, MP, Head of Information System Center Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, ST, MMIT and the ranks of deputy deans of USU Faculty of Engineering.
