Jakarta – USU Public Relations: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) handed over books on anti-corruption education to the Majelis Rektor Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Indonesia (MRPTNI) during the discussion forum on the implementation of the Seleksi Nasional Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (SNPMB) 2026, attended by leaders of public universities participating in SNPMB. The event was held at Novotel Jakarta on Tuesday (10/01/2026).

The book handover was conducted symbolically by Wawan Wardiana, Deputy for Education and Community Participation of KPK, to Muryanto Amin, Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, who attended the forum in his capacity as Secretary General of MRPTNI. This handover formed part of the SNPMB discussion series attended by public university leaders from across Indonesia.

The forum was also attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto, members of the KPK leadership, as well as the Chair of MRPTNI and Head of the SNPMB Steering Committee, Eduart Wolok. On the same occasion, KPK Vice Chair Ahmad Joko Pramono served as a keynote speaker, delivering material on strengthening integrity in the implementation of SNPMB.

Ahmad Joko Pramono emphasized that the national student admission process must be conducted objectively, fairly, and free from fraudulent practices. According to him, anti-corruption education should be introduced from the outset as part of character building within the academic community. “SNPMB is the main gateway to public universities. Therefore, every stage of the process must be carried out professionally and with integrity,” he stated.

Minister Brian Yuliarto explained that SNPMB is designed as an inclusive process by providing multiple pathways for entry into public universities. SNPMB policies continue to be refined to ensure fairness while maintaining the quality of higher education selection in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Prof. Eduart Wolok outlined that SNPMB has two main objectives: facilitating public universities in selecting prospective students based on academic and non-academic achievements through the Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway, and providing opportunities for applicants to participate in selection based on Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) results through the Selection Based on Test (SNBT) pathway.

Meanwhile, Muryanto Amin expressed appreciation for KPK’s support of national higher education governance. He emphasized that the synergy between KPK and MRPTNI plays a vital role in maintaining public trust and ensuring that the SNPMB process adheres to principles of transparency and accountability. “This collaboration reinforces our shared commitment to ensuring that the national student admission process is credible and professional,” he remarked.

Through this initiative, KPK and MRPTNI seek to strengthen anti-corruption values in higher education governance, particularly within the student admission process, in order to support the realization of an integrity-driven higher education system.
